Sam is responsible for the operations and performance of the brokerage, leasing, and property management divisions of Hale Retail Group, as well as client relations and business development. Sam utilizes his extensive experience in retail investment sales to provide leadership and oversight for the Hale Retail Group team.
Sam received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Real Estate from the University of Georgia and has been a licensed real estate agent since 1974 and a licensed real estate broker since 1985. Prior to forming Hale Retail Group, he spent over twenty years as associate broker at Brown Realty Advisors where he specialized in retail investment sales. Sam has closed over 200 commercial transactions ranging in size from neighborhood and specialty centers up to regional malls. His career also includes ten years with Wells Fargo where he was twice named salesperson of the year.
Sam is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. He is a Life Member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club and is a recipient of the Phoenix Award in 2006 by The Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors.
Sam is married with four children and is active in community affairs with the City of Sandy Springs. Currently, Sam is president of the “John Ripley Forbes Big Trees Forest Preserve”, a 30-acre nature preserve located in the heart of Sandy Springs. Sam was past president of North Springs High School PTA, President of the Spalding Woods Neighborhood Association, Board of Directors for Morgan Falls Youth Sports Leagues and Atlanta Boy Scouts. In his free time, Sam enjoys golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Adam specializes in helping landlords rent vacant space in strip malls to small retail business owners as well as leasing vacant space in community and neighborhood retail centers. His active approach to leasing includes showing space every day, canvassing markets, collecting market information, and accessibility to his clients has helped him complete over 250 leasing transactions over the past five years. During that time period, Adam also backfilled a number of big box shopping centers, including renting 24,000 ft² to BodyPlex, 35,000 ft² to Rose’s, 20,000 ft² to Save A Lot, and 8,000+ ft² to Dollar Tree, and he looks forward to leasing all 400,000+ ft² of vacant space that Hale Retail Group currently has available.
Adam is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and attends their major annual functions in Las Vegas and Atlanta. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Housing & Consumer Economics from the University of Georgia. Adam currently resides in Atlanta and is an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks. He spends most of time outside of work on the golf course.

Adam Smith is a broker with Hale Retail Group with a focus on landlord representation. Boasting valuable knowledge and understanding of current market conditions, Adam provides strategic marketing and planning for his client’s real estate investments. Adam’s enthusiasm and energy have helped him to nurture professional relationships with clients such as BB&T, Rialto Capital, and Flagstar Bank. Adam has also worked on the tenant side with local entrepreneurs and regional tenants such as Piedmont Hospital.
A native of Atlanta, Adam graduated from the University of Georgia. He is a member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, The Young Atlanta Retail Alliance, and University of Georgia Alumni Association. In his free time, Adam enjoys coaching youth lacrosse, supporting UGA football, and is a board member of Georgetown Recreation.

James Hale has worked with Hale Retail Group since 2008 and is responsible for the operational and financial strategies of the property management division of Hale Retail Group. With a solid background in leasing, property management, and real estate accounting, James is well-equipped to handle the unique challenges faced by landlords in today’s economic climate.
Prior to joining Hale Retail Group, James spent several years at General Services Corporation where he worked in the accounting department before assuming the duties of leasing agent and property manager. He was responsible for overseeing the operations of a portfolio of seven multifamily apartment complexes in the Atlanta area.
James received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama and is currently a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. In his free time, James enjoys playing golf and watching college football.

Steve spent the last 15 years at M B Properties and Retail Capital Partners as the Managing Partner where he developed over 1,000,000 square feet of retail shopping centers in greater metro Atlanta.
Prior to M B Properties, Steve was Vice President of Property Management at New Market Development with 73 shopping centers in excess of 17,000,000 square feet of retail space on the east coast.
Steve has an extensive background in leasing, property management, and real estate development.
Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and is currently a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. In his free time, enjoys playing golf and is an avid fan of Georgia football and Maryland basketball.
